How do I know where to find the right information from the PTO?

Do you want to:

Kindergarten FAQs:

When will I find out who my child’s teacher will be?

Teacher assignments typically come about a week and a half before school starts in August. This ensures that we are able to accurately account for all students that register in early August and that class sizes are well balanced before we announce teachers to avoid having to move students once they have been assigned. There will be an opportunity for you to meet your child’s teacher at Ready Set Go conferences and your child will have a chance to walk in and find their room (without you) at the Franklin Fly-in the week before school. More details will be shared by Principal Powers in the summer.

How do I find information about bussing?

Transportation information is available on the MMSD Transportation site. You can find information about your child’s assigned bus stop in Infinite Campus:

What will my child learn in Kindergarten?

You can find information about the curriculum and state standards for all levels, by clicking on each of the subject areas (Literacy, Mathematics, etc.) on the MMSD Curriculum and Instruction site.

Is it possible to take a tour of Franklin prior to enrolling?

Tours of the school will be provided at select kindergarten playdates without staff. Your child will also have the chance to go in and find their classroom and meet their teacher during Franklin Fly-In (parents do not walk in with students at this event).
